Love this slice of life shot.
On Wednesdays and Fridays, I hold on to motherhood with white knuckles. There will come a day too soon, that my babies will be in school all day every day during the week. And as much as that sounds "glorious" at times, it's also a mark of stepping into that next phase of parenting, and youth for them. A step I'm not always ready to take.
Until that day, Wednesdays and Fridays will be my days to observe, play, pretend, imagine, create, discipline, teach, learn, grow and hug and kiss the hours away with two of my most favorite people on Earth.
Last week, it was yucky outside so we set up the tent and filled it with pillows and blankets and anything else they might need to feel comfy inside. They promptly zipped it down and giggled, ate goldfish, read stories, and "played toys" and generally made one glorious mess in there. Their laughter inside was sound I loved overhearing. Wish I could just bottle it up.
