I have 82 days to go...
Dang. Only 82? Really? I don't feel near ready for this child. Too many things happening... businesses starting... businesses ending... two year old's with constant, "Mommy!," households to run, and on and on.
I did start to panic about two weeks ago about the impending arrival of this little bundle when I watched the end of the "Bethenny Getting Married" series on Bravo. Her little one decided to arrive 5 weeks early which put everyone in a tailspin! I didn't sleep for two solid days and went into full-on nesting mode needing to paint the nursery, order fabrics, pick light fixtures, rugs, etc, etc.
I'm a total loon... but you already knew that.
I think, for me, this is one pregnancy where, even though I'll be a total WHALE, I wouldn't mind having an extra week or two added on.
I say that now....
So - in the spirit of "amping up the nesting" - Clark and I got started on the nursery and I managed to put a little double layout together for her little 8x8 "expecting book" regarding our plans for the space.
I found this company called Cloud 9 Fabrics from a Martha Stewart Living article and purchased some of the yellow sandpiper and aqua sandollar fabric online from their "Beyond The Sea Collection" and had it shipped to my mother-in-law's house. She has kindly offered to sew a crib skirt, bumper and window valance for the room. I also picked paint - the lightest yellow on the card for the walls, and the deepest aqua on the card for the trim.
Here are the left and right side pages individually. Left...
And the right...
Since I made this layout I've also ordered this rug (the yellow one on top) from my favorite rug company Dash and Albert...
Just as an aside - I adore this company's rugs... I have a huge one in my living room (Neapolitan) and a smaller one in Macho's room (Side Bar Indoor/Outdoor)... and now this one (Palm Beach Ticking)...
I also own and have purchased many of their "rug tote bags" as gifts. LOVE LOVE LOVE.
Since the rug had a bit of pink in it I picked up this light fixture in antique white finish with little pink droplets hanging off it at Lowes and added some little white shades to it...
I need to take an actual photo of it for you - this online one doesn't do it justice. Also have a large art piece planned and underway right now in the garage for one of the big walls in the room but I'll save that for another post.
Stay tuned...
how sweet is that?? love those colors and that you put links for the companies. fixin' up a little girls room is certainly special...can't wait to see the pics!!

Very cute, and totally different from the purple you were thinking about last time we chatted. Love it- and the colors will match perfectly with the rest of your beachy decor. Can't wait to see the finished product!

I love the fabric, and you are very lucky to have a talented mother-in-law! It seems to have skipped a generation in my family ;)
