Pregnant and I Know It.

As in so many other facets of my crazy life - I'm suuuuper behind on blogging my client sessions. I figured if I kept up a pace of sharing one per week that would be good and y'all wouldn't be overwhelmed with toooo much photography content. But I've been averaging more like 3 jobs per week over the last several months - so that inflow has backlogged the outflow, so to speak.

In short - I'm behind.

It's not because I don't LOOOOOOOVE my clients. I love them ALL. Fer reals.

Especially this one. Tricia called me very close to her due date to schedule both maternity and newborn photos. She was so amped up about getting good photos I couldn't have been more pleased to have her. I just love a client who is enthusiastic about getting great work done.

When she stepped out of her apartment complex the day of our session wearing that blue dress - I thought I'd died and gone to maternity photographer heaven! What a babe! Girl, you got it going on! 3" heels at 38 weeks??? You GOT THAT! I was in awe the entire time. And she just couldn't have been more eager to trust me and try any silly thing I had in mind.

And Rob! Well Tricia - don't hate - but he's a total babe too! The two of you make a beautiful couple - and because we already have the newborn shoot in the can (it's coming soon to the blog y'all!) I can confirm that the two of you make GORGEOUS babies. You need to seriously do it again sometime - and call me. Society thanks you for adding such beautiufl people to the planet. :)

And Rob was also so so so sweet and kind and gentlemenly through the entire process. I just love him. I knew in 5 minutes he was going to be an incredible daddy.

Thanks so so much you guys - I adore you both. Can't wait for next time!

Sara's Baby Bump | Annapolis, MD Maternity Photographer

A friend of a friend of a coworker of Clarks. That's how I had the good fortune of meeting Sara. What luck I have sometimes!

Pregnant with her 3rd little bundle and just two weeks shy of her due date, she was excited and ready for whatever I had in store for her and her beautiful family.

Personally, I was just amazed by her radiance and energy level. I mean - 2 weeks before her due date? - Two little girls to care for? Just stopped working at her husband's office a hot minute ago? Keeping up with running a household in one of the most beautiful communities on Earth?

Shut the front door!

With that kind of schedule, I would've expected a few little bags under the eyes to Photoshop out.

Nope. Not Sara. She was effortless. Sincere, beautiful, graceful even!

Man, I look back at my home stretch with my two pregnancies and those are NOT the kind of words that would've come to mind. More like, clumsy, awkward, bulbous, mammoth, klutzy, haggard!

I digress.

Everyone - meet Sara and her beautiful family.

P.S. Her hair - that lovely strawberry blonde - yes, it was even more GORGE in person, y'all. I wanted it.

And guess what??... This morning I'm off to her home once more to capture her beautiful 8lb. 10oz. baby boy! More on him to come!

Sara was just lovely.

Their community has a little beach and clubhouse for those who live there. It was a great spot... even though it was a little chilly out.  The girls didn't seem to mind.

I love their expressions. E's little hand shot right up. ME! ME! ME!

Meanwhile L seems to be thinking - Ya know - it' has it's perks - but sometimes it's a DRAG!!! You'll see little sister. :)

Hee hee hee. Kids are sooo brutally honest. Love them.

Nicole's Maternity Session | Easton, MD Maternity Photographer

Ours was an unlikely and serindipitous meeting. A few months ago, I offered a winner's choice - Maternity Session or Photography Lessons - as an auction item benefitting a local private school.

I was so excited when the proud winner of my package emailed me and announced that she was going to be a grandma for the first time later this summer! She bid on my maternity session as a gift for her son and daughter-in-law.

Oh yeah - I have to add that she just couldn't have been sweeter. So kind, so genuinely excited, so ready for the next step. Grandbabies!

She promptly placed me in touch with her son, and daddy-to-be, Phil.... And just like his momma.... he was a total sweetheart too.

I mostly spoke with Phil during the pre-planning of the session. There were some logistical hurdles. They were going to have to travel over 3.5 hours to come back to the shore, his hometown, for the shoot. And they wanted to do it at his Uncle's property on the water.

Boy oh boy - I know this was a charity thing - but I really, truly feel like I'm the lucky one here. This family is so incredible, my ultimate dream client... my cup runneth over. And I had yet to even meet the beautiful girl I was to photograph!

All of my senses knew this was a huge win win for everyone involved... and the moment I stepped out of my car and laid eyes on Nicole and her perfectly round baby bump... my feelings were solidified. I knew this was going to be a really, really good day.

Nicole was just the loveliest thing. She was open to ideas... completely easygoing... willing to try anything... and with the most gentle and modest coaching - she practically posed herself. A total natural. Plus - she grew up about 30 minutes away from where I did back in Western PA. So technically, she's my homegirl too.

And Phil and she together... well.

What can I say about them that the pictures won't...?

He looooooooves her. Watching him watch her made me just about choke up. He was tender and sweet... and just looked at her with such respect and admiration. His wife. The mother of his baby. It was an incredible thing to witness.

Nicole is due later this June - and the sex of the baby they are keeping a surprise. I'm happy to announce that I'll also be doing photos of the little nugget when he/she arrives. I can hardly wait.

Their puppy dog "Lou" wanted to see what was going on...

Loved this pose.  Such interesting upholstery on the couch too... Wish I had a fish eye lens that would've distorted it a little. :) Such good lines with the windows and extra wide sofa.
Phil's Uncle's home didn't disappoint in the way of unique furniture pieces. This chair was so Alice in Wonderland. The oversized back was spectacular.... And so was my model! :)
