DIY: Master Bath Inspirations

So I thought I'd share just a few photos today... Quick snaps from my iPhone that I've been collecting while putting this whole remodel together in my head.

We have that hole in the wall where a new (and much larger medicine cabinet is going to go) - and I'm going to have Clark trim it out with some nice "picture frame" moulding - as shown here...

Since we have all that nasty mastic that is left behind from pulling the wall tiles off... the easiest way to attend to that mess is just to cover it up. SO!

On the walls we are goingt to be hanging beaded board wainscotting - floor to ceiling - horizontally - like this photo...

I'm also thinking of having him incorporate a ledge of some kind like the one in the above shot.

Then there's the floor tile... just off the shelf from Lowes....

And inside the shower I pulled this design of subway tile and penny glass straight off the display too...

I love that greenish hue that clear glass gives off so I'm thinking I'll paint the ceiling a fun light seaglass green/blue shade.

Otherwise - white white everywhere!

Here's the other necessary elements I picked out...

Square Kohler Memoirs Collection toilet and pedestal sink combo...

Sorry so small...

Finally - the ONE thing I did order... from Ebay... a large salvaged dock cleat from the pacific northwest...

This baby is 12 inches long and weighs about 4 lbs... and I'm hoping will be the future door handle to our glass shower door.

Gotta speak to the glass guys who are fabricating it for us about that.  :)

There is a local marine salvage yard here that I'm going to visit today. I called the lady and she said she has some smaller beat up cleats that I'm hoping to score.... thinking of mounting these in a neat little row on the wall for use as towel hooks. :)

 

Anyway - those are the broad strokes for now.

Yes - that sink and toilet are VERY familiar! Though we didnt spring for the extra large top...

ooooh love it. i got the same sink and terlit in my powder room but with vertical wainscoting. love it all girlie...it's going to be so niiiice. i love the cleat thing too...very neat!

I really like the tile selection. Subway tile and the small floor tiles are exactly what I would put in a bathroom too! Can't wait to see the progress! Love the video tours.
