Anniversary Surprise :: Maryland Budoir Photographer

I usually stick to babies, maternity and families.... but when a friend called me and said she was hoping to surprise her husband with a budoir style calendar as a special anniversary gift - I couldn't say no. Now that the anniversary has come and gone and the gifts have been given - I can finally share!

It was an exciting afternoon of sneaking around her empty house, tons of wardrobe changes and for me, artistic challenges I was determined to see through.

I was so grateful that my beautiful subject was eager to try some of the things I'd had in mind - and she had some ideas of her own as well. It was a great collaborative effort. I was also extremely grateful for her confidence that I would do her body justice. Feeling comfortable, even with a CLOSE friend in the room can be hard enough half-dressed, let alone a newfound friend with a big camera! Thank you! Thank you R! You made ME feel at ease! You are stunning, and viviacious. I loved every minute of this.

We started with some traditional budoir...

I think shoulders and lace are sexy.

Had to work her big fat diamond ring into things - it is an anniversary gift after all. :)

This come and get it look R is giving is awesome! GORGE!

Then we moved on to some of the "themed" shots for specific months of the calendar. Her husband loves Ultimate Fighting Championship... So we put on one of his hoodies and acted all tough.

Another one of his "babies" is his bike. Some camo hot shorts and a wife beater are all that were necessary here. 

This shot was for our "January" page... Happy New Year!

After several other theme like shots (too hot for TV!) we went back to the bedroom where I had an idea (thank you Twilight!) to make a huge mess. So grateful to R for agreeing to this - I know the cleanup wasn't easy!

After she rocked that - I had one other idea...Quite possibly my favorite shot of the day.

When we were all said and done shooting - we picked our favorites, edited, then I recommended Minted to R for her calendar.

I love MInted and have been using and recommending them for a few years now. As a pro photographer I now have a storefront with them - where all of my favorite designs are handpicked for my clients and friends. I will be talking about this more in the next few days - so stay tuned.
