Oh my...

This sweet sweet boy. He just took my breath away when I met him. Only five short days old and he was just so so perfect. Beautifully proportioned - not a stitch of dry skin or irritation anywhere - delicate little facial features and clearly - already a skilled model. The epitome of brand new. And... also the most cooperateive newborn I've had the pleasure of working with to date! He basically slept right through the entire thing. Mom had him nice and full and we kept him comfy with a sound machine and fuzzy blankets and props - and the weather was nice and warm. Man, I just love me some newborn shoots. So fun.

W's Grandma and Grandpa have some unique talents, SHE is a master gardener and HE is an unbelievable wood worker and turns his own beautiful bowls... not to mention they live on a beautiful property. We decided it would be special to try to incorporate as much of that as possible.

Ok - here we go!

I love starting a newborn session in bed with mom and dad... crisp white sheets... Snuggling together like it's just any ol' Saturday morning... sharing the joys of being a new family.

I'd love to start every newborn session this way.

Like I said... he's pretty much perfect.

Peach fuzz...

He received this hand knitted papoose and hat as a gift... Love the cable detailing... it was made to look like little owls. So cute. :)

This was the shot where it all came together... In one of Grandpa's big bowls - nestled in Grammy's garden. It was so fun to incorporate such meaning into the props and locations.

This is a gigantic log that sits at the water's edge of the property. It's in transition right now - becoming a bench... has a huge 1/4 circle slab out of it. I just love the juxtaposition of the fluffy flokati rug against the rough bark!

Thank you so much Shannon and Seth for lettng me capture your magical little man! I was really spellbound by him! So lucky that I can call you friends and can watch little W grow up!
