Such a nice, clean layout. I absolutely {heart} templates and make them all the time from layouts I see! Thanks for sharing yours!

First of all Katie, I must say, you amaze me with the time you have to scrapbook! I soooo want to do some, but how do I get started? What do I need to buy? And, do you print all of these pages out or do you just keep them on the computer?

    Hey Nik!
Thanks for your comment! I totally meant Bobby as the "other ex-SEAL" that I knew personally - so I'm glad you got a chance to read it - and that my assessment was on the money! :)

As for the scrapbooking - I love it so much - but I really don't have the time I would like to dedicate to it... I miss it terribly when I go long stretches without doing a layout... and I feel like my family's memories are going to get lost in the mayhem. SO - lately I've just set a reasonable goal to do one layout a week. Period. It seems to be working so far. And going the digital route seems to allow me to crank it out in a fairly short period of time - with no clean up because I do it all with my computer. To get started with Digital Scrapbooking you need 3 things - 1) A copy of Photoshop or Photoshop Elements (and know how to use it) 2) products from online sources (I love www.DesignerDigitals.com & www.OScraps.com) 3) A place to have your finished pages printed - I use www.ScrapbookPictures.com. (Oh yeah - and #4 would be an album to put them in when they come back from the printer. I love www.kolo.com - for their Trivino 8.5x11 3 ring binders... and I get American Crafts brand 3 ring 12x12 binders from www.twopeasinabucket.com)

Finally - I highly recommend Cathy Zielske's Clean & Simple Scrapbooking - & Clean & Simple Scrapbooking : The Sequel - books (which I'm sure you can purchase on Amazon.com) - she changed the way I looked at the hobby of scrapbooking and her layouts have provided me endless inspiration!!!

    Hope this info helps!
We will be home for Memorial Day... Any chance you will too?
I know that's a biggie weekend in VA Beach...

Thank you, thank you Katie! I totally feel the same way now with 3 kids, that the memories are going to be forgotten if I don't get my a#% in gear! I am sooooo behind with "scrapbooking" and feel so overwhelmed. However, this is a start! I will look into the info you sent me. One layout a week better than nothing:). Keep up the awesome work! As for memorial day, we will be at the beach. Hopefully getting caught up on home projects:). Enjoy home!

Hi again Katie! I totally stalked you after we met last weekend. I found your blog and have decided I'll be reading your blog often! Your photography is great and I'm really excited that you scrapbook too.

I was in a terrible mood the other night and my husband, Chris, who you also met last weekend, says to me "you need to scrap something!"... but I just didn't want to haul out all the goods. I was digital scrapbooking for a while but never printed anything, so never felt like I acomplished much... maybe I'll have to start again and I think you've given me some nice motivation! THANKS!!!

I've included my blog in my information too if you're interested. It's a schmorgesborg of crafts, cooking, life, but it's also a documentation of the infertility struggles we went through to conceive our son, and then a day to day journal of Aidan's NICU stay. And as you found out on Saturday, I love sharing his miracle story!!! :)

Again, it was nice meeting you, and I'm going to be following this blog and sample some of your layouts!!!! ~Jaime
