Remember this little gem that I scored for $40?
Now, don't go skipping around the room singing "The Sound of Music" just yet.
I'm disappointed.
VERY disappointed.
As in I'm going to have to scrape it all off, sand it down, wash it with acetone and start all over.
If you look closely at the photo above... see all the little variations in the glaze coat?
Yes - well just extrapolate this:
You've just had $100 manicure - but the top coat looks like someone's taken a blow torch to it and burned hundreds of little "pock marks" into the surface of your otherwise unblemished - perfectly painted nails.
Oh yeah - and you've been sitting in the mainicurist's chair for two weeks while she painstakingly applied the paint, taped off a nifty design, adorned a perfectly smooth coat of red with some awesome stickers and decals....
Only to get herself hammered when she applied the Seche Vite. (*which by the way - is the best top coat for nails known to man!).
Only I wasn't even the least bit drunk when I applied this epoxy resin. Nope - stone cold sober.
And what's worse - is it's been sitting in our house in a controlled temperature and environment for over a week and it's STILL tacky to the touch. The darn stuff hasn't cured at all...
If only I had stopped at this step:
Gorgeous...
Oh - the misery of hindsight... especially hindsight that has photographic evidence.
The next step should have been OUTLAWED - but I didn't know!!!!!
You know what - I can't even bear to write anymore. It just went downhill - FAST from here.
You can rest assured there will be a third installment to this story. I'm too damn stubborn to give up on it so when we get back from vacation I'll be breaking out the scraper and sandpaper and going to town.
Have a great week y'all.

say it isn't so!!! to the surf board, to the no internet for a week, and pregnant car ride (dan insisted on driving to orlando when i was almost 8 months pg). i am feeling so sorry for you sistah.
all i can say is THANK GOODNESS you're still having something for us while you're gone...that would be a sad, LONG week for the internet peeps.

Yikes Katie, I feel for you, Girl!! On both the surfboard issue and the travel issue...You are one determined lady to tackle that board again. If it were me, I would hang it up really, really high in the hopes that no one would spot my mistake-LOL!
My last long road trip (10+ hours to NC from NJ) was also at 5-6 months pregnant and I SWORE and swore, and swore...
Well, getting off track here, but I SWORE I would never drive anywhere by car again that took longer than 4 hours. Needless to say, we are going to Florida this coming Thursday and my poor DH didn't even think about asking me to drive down (and I'm not preggos anymore, either...although I do have one crazy 19 month old).
Good luck, Mama...hope you survive and have an awesome time. Focus on the journey, right??!!!!
