This week on "It's The Little Things," I'd like to share these two favorites of mine:
I love me some Netflix and I love me some Seda France candle in the Foret Royale scent. My second runner-up scent is Verveine.
I buy these lovely, and I will add, very long-lasting candles at a great shop where I live called, Dwelling & Design. They are a sponsor of mine and I'll be doing a feature on them tomorrow! They will also be giving away of one of these candles to one lucky reader so be sure to tune in!
P.S. Clark says it's difficult to read the text on the "blurb" side of these cards so if you'd like me to copy the text into the body of the post, I will. I just didn't want to be all redundant on ya :)

The second order of business I'd like to discuss today is how to assemble and decorate your tag mini album. By now you should have plenty to go inside them.
You will need:rubber cement (or spray adhesive)
craft knife
sanding block
cardstock/patterned papers of your choice
embellishments of your choice
chipboard tags - either homemade or from Paper Source
1" or larger metal ring from office supply store
The first step is to cover your chipboard with cardstock / patterned paper using the spray adhesive or rubber cement. Then using your craft knife, trim off the excess (and around the grommet). Finally, once your adhesive is completely dry, use your sanding block to sand around the edges leaving a clean finished edge.
Then you can decorate the cover to your liking. I downloaded the ITLT logo - printed it on a piece of 4x6 photo paper and placed it beneath a strip of cardstock with a window cut out of it. I embellished it with two orange brads before adhering the whole thing to the cover.
The final bit of embellishing I did was to cut several pieces of patterned and textured ribbon (pulling from the colors in my paper & logo) and tied them to the top of the metal ring.
And I loaded it up with pages. I have my photos facing forward with the blurbs on the backside.
Some final thoughts on how I've been approaching/organizing/assembling this project:
At the beginning, since I had been chewing on this idea for awhile. I spent about 3 or 4 days in a row snapping photos of items that make my life better, easier, sweeter. With the idea of ONLY capturing images of these things at the forefront of my consciousness - it was easier to snap snap snap and get a bunch all at once. I wasn't worried about writing blurbs, or putting them in albums or anything. JUST taking pictures and sorting them into an event of their very own in iphoto.
Then, when I felt like I had plenty of ideas, I printed the whole lot of them out in a batch on my home printer on 4x6 photo paper. The same day, I printed out a bunch of the journaling cards on 8.5x11 cardstock and trimmed them out. I used rubber cement to glue a blank journaling card to each photo - lopped off the corners of the photo to match the "tag" - punched holes in the top and added them to the ring.
Then, week by week - I've sorted through my unfinished "stash" of cards/pics and selected two to talk about with you. It's at this time that I sit down to write the "blurbs" and embellish the cards a bit. The process for doing two at a time at this point is less than 15 minutes.
One thing I made sure to do was keep a handful of extra journaling cards at the back of the album. That way, if I want to add one or two more, as items arise, I won't have to do EVERYTHING again. I'll simply print out a photo, glue, trim and journal. Voila.
I really hope you've enjoyed putting this project together with me. I plan to do a few more posts sharing some of my favorite items with all of you and I look forward to seeing what you come up with! Even if it's just pictures of your "little things!"
I'd also love to share some of your finished work on the blog so email me your submissions at katiepegher (at) gmail (dot) com! And, as always, if you need help, or have any questions, please email or leave me a comment. xo!
